Rogue By Nature

Auteur

the story

With more than 425 wineries in Sonoma County alone, standing out isn’t optional, it’s the difference between being discovered or forgotten. Auteur needed to break through the noise to win the attention (and loyalty) of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay lovers…even Burgundy purists.

The creds were already there. Auteur is a small, premium Sonoma Coast producer with decades of winemaking experience, amazing craftsmanship, and wines with ratings up to 96 points from Jeb Dunnuck, including a new Grand Cru release from Burgundy. The product is undeniable, but the awareness was lacking.

That’s where we came in.

We started with what we do best: we created a unique brand position that differentiates Auteur in a crowded commodity category. While most competitors were leaning on familiar signals of “premium”, we uncovered something more interesting: many of Auteur’s philosophies are unapologetically anti-category. They go rogue, making wines on instinct in pursuit of what you didn’t even know you were looking for. From that insight, a new brand position was born.

Rogue By Nature.

We launched Auteur’s first-ever advertising campaign, Rogue By Nature, with a cinematic hero video, shot where the magic actually happens: along the rugged Sonoma Coast, between the Russian River and the Redwoods. Starring Founder and Head Winemaker, Kenneth Juhasz, the hero video captures his process of taking curiosity, risk and wonder and bottling it into wine. With ambitious plans rolling into 2026, Rogue By Nature marks the beginning of Auteur stepping into the spotlight.
