Overall Role Description:

The Creative Director will be instrumental in helping to grow the business and drive success.  You’ll work closely with and report directly to the Executive Creative Director.  You’ll help grow and support the creative teams, driving the creative vision for a multitude of brands. 

This role is responsible for leading and managing the work of a client team or teams with regard to concept and creation, ensuring effective ideation across a client team and ultimately ensuring the translation of ideas into reality. This role strives to ensure that all final creative deliverables are on brand, on strategy, on time, on budget and exceeds client expectations. This role also contributes to thought leadership, especially with regard to creative knowledge, trends and developments.


Specific Responsibilities

CREATIVITY

  • Own the creative vision and flawless execution of a brand’s creative work, across multiple teams and multiple disciplines

  • Partner closely with Account Leads to define specific client and / or project needs, as related to creative work

  • Lead brainstorm and ideation sessions to push innovative thinking and opportunity exploration

  • Produce creative work: a special emphasis on copy, design, photography or motion graphics skills

  • Participate in proposals, pitches and other new business development activities, as appropriate and required

TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Effectively resource the creative team for each project, working closely with production

  • Effectively activate the team towards the plan and timeline

  • Manage billable hours and allocations of the Maker team

  • Ensure team activity and deliverables are aligned with Statements of Work (SOW’s) and alignment with brand standards

CLIENT PARTNERSHIP

  • Apply deep understanding of client, the industry and competitive landscape to project goals and deliverables

  • Collaborate with Account Leads to implement optimal cadence for regular check-ins with the client team, reviewing deliverables, as appropriate, and prior to final approval or client submission

  • Proactively manage client relationships, particularly with client Brand teams. Ensure team members are effectively in communication with client counterparts, as aligned to contact structure

  • Grow client relationships and identify creative opportunities, striving to continuously add future value as a key partner

 

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relative experience working in a creative agency and/or Digital Marketing space in a leadership role, managing creative teams

  • Proven creative vision and implementation of client creative work

  • Ability to build and deliver effective concepts and creative across various industries and manage an array of complex problems

  • Proven knowledge / expertise across creative teams with varying skills such as Graphic Design, Videography, Photography, Copywriting, Production and Visual Development

  • Excellent people management skills and instincts

  • Ability to effectively allocate and manage time and resources in an ever-changing and extremely fast-paced environment and across a variety of disciplines

  • Proven understanding of creative concepts across multiple media and functional skill sets

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Proven skills managing client interactions (clients across a variety of industries and sizes)

  • Proven ability to mentor and provide ongoing feedback to assigned teams

  • Ability to always be in “idea mode,” bringing mind-blowing concepts and insights to team brainstorms and projects

  • Excellent presentation, public speaking, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Above all, kindness, composure, and relentless curiosity
